Twist Lock Adjuster Guide: DYNAFastFit® H2 Conveyor Scraper

DYNAFastFit®: Fast, Easy and Simple

The DYNAFastFit® conveyor scraper range has been designed for fast and easy installation, adjustments and maintenance.

To demonstrate how easy our scraper design is to use we have a video demonstration and step-by-step instructions on how to replace the blades, adjust and set the DYNAFastFit® H2 conveyor scraper.

How-To: Twist Lock Adjuster

1. Release the tension from the twist-lock tensioner spring by turning the nut towards the pulley.

2. Remove pin from twist lock adjuster.

The pin in the twist lock adjuster maintains the tension of the scraper spring which keeps the pressure of the blades on the conveyor belt.

This mechanism allows the blades to maintain constant contact with the conveyor belt, at the correct pressure, until the blades are worn down and need to be replaced.

To remove the pin, carry out step 1 above to release the pin. The pin can then be rotated from behind the lug and extracted from the hole. The spanner is not shown on the nut for clarity.

3. Loosen the stop bolts.

The stop bolts are designed to limit the scraper from over adjusting beyond the wear limit of the blades. When limit is reached, the spring adjuster is restricted by the stop bolts from advancing the blades any further.

This allows the maximum wear of the blades without the blades wearing beyond the recommended limit. The stop bolts eliminate the possibility of the metal arms coming in contact with the conveyor belt.

In some cases, the stop bolts limit the rotation of the shaft, not allowing the blades to be aligned with the service opening. In this situation, the stop bolts need to be released and the shaft rotated to align with the service opening in the chute.

4. The blades can be removed and replace with a new set.

By simply removing two bolts, the shaft can be easily removed from the conveyor system. This allows easy, safe and ergonomic access to the scraper blades.

Once the scraper has been removed from the conveyor system, the blades locking slide is removed from the unique mounting system by sliding them off the slide plate.

The new blades are simply slide back into position and the blade locking slide plate is returned to its original position and clamped by tightening the bolt.

5. Rotate the shaft so the blades are lightly touching the pulley by rotating the shaft.

6. Continue to hold the blades against the pulley, return the stop bolts to the top of the slot and tighten the stop bolts.

The stop bolts need to be set in the correct position as they act as a stop and an indicator of the blade life.

The new blades need to be rotated against the pulley by using the spanner in the hole provided. While holding the blades against the pulley, the stop bolts need to be locked into position at the opposite end of the slot.

By rotating the stop bolts to the beginning of the slot you will achieve the greatest life possible for the scraper blades.

7. Tension the scraper by turning the adjusting nut towards the pulley.

It’s important when tensioning the twist lock adjuster that you have the correct tension on the blades.

Not enough tension can lead to less than desired cleaning and too much tension can wear the blades quicker than expected.

Rotate the nut towards the pulley according to the number of holes in the installation manual table. This will ensure the nominated tension on the blades. Depending on the actual cleaning performance, tension can be adjusted by a few holes + or – as required.

8. Once the desired tension is achieved, place the pin in the closest hole on the adjusting nut.

Holding the desired tension on the nut (the spanner is not shown for clarity), insert the pin back into the Twist Lock Adjuster. Rotating the pin down behind the tab to secure the pin against vibration. The nut can then be released and the pin is held in place by the spring force.

Your DYNAFastFit® H2 Scraper fitted with poly blades is ready for operation.
